Life is unpredictable and can be apparently unfair. The care home where I live these days has all sorts of residents, various problems plague each resident. There are residents that are completely bed bound, others lack upper limb movement but can be outside to soak up some sunshine.
One of these residents is a wonderful lady. She is a devout Christian and very knowledgable. The image would be that of a cute small granny. I was shocked to learn that she has been here over a decade. Her parents have both passed away. Moreover this lady is legally blind, but her parents did a clever thing and got her to learn Braille. She is completely blind in one eye because she was a premature birth, and can barely see with the other eye. She is an avid reader and reads all the latest stuff in Braille. All in all a gentle soul.
I look at people like her and my heart breaks, she has no one left. Not sure about it but there has to be wisdom there and Allah almighty knows why this kind woman was dealt the hand that she was by life. May Allah make it gentle & peaceful for this lady and others like her. Ameen.
