Sons of Our Fathers

As it happens, I am writing this for some of my really good friends or for anybody who may find it helpful. I had a recent bout of coma that I thankfully came out of but I have memory blank spots. My brain is fighting this memory decay and is succeeding but slowly. As such I am not sure which of my friends parents have left us but I'm learning and in most cases feeling the impact of the loss again.

"Sons" of the "Fathers" is not to be taken literally. It is just my way of saying how we reflect our parents all our life and how in most cases that is a good thing. Sons and daughters alike. Mothers and Fathers alike.

One thing that I learnt after my coma, is how life is short and can be painful as time progresses. Sure a person can live till 60,70,90 but when you look back it is all but one brief instance.

What makes our life liveable and a pleasant experience is our parents. They create that positive environment of nurturing, exploration and learning. This is the reason why the first part of our lives is easy. Its because we are living in a simulation created by our parents. It depends on the parent how intricate and detailed their simulated world is. The more the detail, the more experienced a child we grow up to be. Better equipped for the future.

Death is inevitable. Death is unavoidable. Every human will experience this same fate. And so the life of our parents will come to an end but the same way their parents closed the chapter of life. They handed the torch on to their kids to do exactly what they did and that is to create a safe and happy simulated environment where their children can grow in various aspects of their life, discover their likes and dislikes and basically train to be the humans they want to be. It is our responsibility to give them that environment just like our parents did for us. And this my friends is the second part of our lives.

Fulfilment, accomplishment, success etc. will not be measured the same way as it was it the first part of your life. You will have to make life comfortable, fun and engaging for your kids and yourself just like your parents did for you. Hopefully as good maybe do an even better job than them. Your success will be determined by that and how you think your parent's souls might perceive your actions from whichever esoteric space they might be in.

Finally everybody has to ride the same wave however the important thing is whether you can make it fun and fulfilling for your kids just like your parents did for you. After all from dust ... to dust.
